The brief.
Build a lead-gen site for a UK solar installation brand serving Northern England. The site needs to convert cold cold-weather homeowners researching solar into booked quotes. Budget signals: mid-market; trust, not flash.
What we built.
- 7 pages — home, about, services, areas, pricing, contact, thank-you
- 12 SEO blog posts for long-tail solar queries ("best solar panels Leeds", etc.)
- Sector-specific copy — postcode references, MCS-certified messaging, honest pricing
- Lead form → email notification + Google Sheets logging
- LocalBusiness schema with service-area postcodes, opening hours, sameAs links
- Google Business Profile set up and optimised with photos, service areas, descriptions
Quality gates passed.
- Lighthouse 100/100/100/100 on the homepage (performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO)
- WCAG 2.2 AA — zero axe-core violations
- Schema.org validates clean in Google Rich Results Test
- Google Business Profile claimed and optimised
- Mobile-first responsive — tested at 375px and 768px
- GA4 analytics installed
Tech stack.
Built on WordPress with a custom theme, hosted on Hostinger's LiteSpeed platform. Third-party scripts kept lean and Core Web Vitals still hit green — a reminder that WordPress can ship fast sites when you stay disciplined with themes, plugins, and caching.
